I appreciate the help from SeaSea and Leviathan about Mckee boats. I am looking at diesels, also (fuel efficiency) and was wondering if anyone has a True World Marine boat? The 24 and 28's look great both in fishability and fuel milage especially with the single screw diesel engines.
Are they dependable? truly fisherman friendly? Maneuverable? Efficient?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Maintenance and up-keep will put them in a WHOLE different ball-park.......

I've looked at them several times at the boat shows and seem to be an awesome fishing boat. The fuel stats on their website seem to good to be true.

I've also seen them at boat shows and thought enough of them to check out their facility(just down the road a spell) and I was impressed. I'd love to tell you that it looked like any other shop of the sort, but i'd be bending the truth. If you are considering buying one of these boats you should check it out for yourself, the shop is clean and orderly, the laminators areclean and orderly....the whole operation wreeks of meticulous efficiency. They are located at the Jarret bay complex out 101....if you've ever toured another builders facility this will freak your format.

Tsurge, I don't know about the boats but I do know some about diesels. I have a powerstroke and can hardley give it away. It costs almost $100 to change the oil,fuel, and air filter and change the oil. If I do it near $75. Diesel is almost a dollar higher than gas. At one time I was paying $5 a gallon for it, marinas will be higher. I wish my truck was gas even if it only got 13-14 miles to the gallon it would be cheaper. IMHO it would have to be very,very fuel efficient to make up the kind of cost for service and purchase to beat a four stroke. Jus my 2c. Where's your place on Oak Island? My Dad's is close to the caswell PD.

If the stats are still the same the 28 footer is supposed to burn 11-12gph at WOT and .1 gph at 5 mph. If those numbers are right that's awesome.

IF you do not run over 100 days a year....Go gas.

Gas anyone can work on....

Gas is cheaper....

Parts are cheaper....

You only save money with desiels run you runa ton.

BTW...This is not me saying this....It is one of the most respected Marine Suverys out there....
