A simple way to double the capacity of your boat's horizontal rod holders is to put a velcro loop in each of the exiting rod holders. I do this to get rods down and out of the way in my 21CC so I can cast. Your rods won't be recessed, but they're down.
The velcro loops are at the cash registers in most boating stores.
Go to Handcocks or Joannes or even Wally World buy yourself some nylon strapping and velcro cut the length of strap you want and fuse the end with heat. Cut a piece of velcro half the length of the strap, seperate the velcro and sew the two piece to the strap. If you don't know how to lay out the velcro on your strap, look at how those are made you buy at boaters world but if I can figure it out any body can. If you can't sew ask your wife or friend's wife to do it for you. It only takes a couple of minutes to make one of these straps.
I made a bunch of these various lengths and use them for a lot of different things to include coiling up rope, garden hoses, power cords, computer cables and bundling my rods in the back of the truck when hauling them. Some people use them to hold their gaffs on their bow rails, etc...... _________________ Garry
