Took the boat in for the 100 Hr service this week. Fired it up on the trailer today and the Yamaha Command Link Gauges still scroll "Maintenance" across the top. Wooda thought $500 would have got that reset for me... ... geez.
Anyway, can't find instructions in the manual to rest them. Anybody know how to do it?
take the boat back to where you had it serviced, those guages are like a car now, have to have a reset tool to clear it. _________________ 26' Century CC

Thanks for the response g8tr74... I was afraid of that. I'll call the dealer (a high volume dealer about 60 miles southeast of Greensboro) in the morning. They did alot of good warranty work for me on the visit - replaced leaking raw water washdown pump and strainer, replaced water-filled LED trailer taillights, replaced broken CD player, greased wheel bearings... but there were a few negatives too... maintenance indicator not reset, boat extremely dirty (footprints and dust - they are building a new gravel lot next to the boat storage lot - actually had a 1" X 2" rock in it that evidently flew into the cockpit, one of the rubber wheel bearing seals was missing by the time I got home, and the throttle friction screws cover didn't fit well -easily fixed by turning the arrow that says "Up" to the up position before reinstalling.
Am I PO'ed? - not really - but you would think $500 would "buy" you a little better attention to detail.
A return trip to reset the "Maintenance" gauges will be another $60 in fuel, so I'll probably see how long it takes me to get irritated at pushing the mode button to clear the message on the gauges every single time I start it up before taking it back in.

All cars have very simple way of resetting their service or check engine lights, maybe as simple as disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, or switching a wire. You just have to know what it is. For your car a service manual such as Haynes will tell you. Outboards may be the same?
even better, you could simply call the service department where you got it and they would tell you how to do it. That is what i did with my car, and it was pretty easy. Took me longer to walk to the car out in the driveway than it did to fix.
Take care

Well men.... it CAN be done from the gauges... and I wish I could tell you how to repeat it .
From the display that has the temp/battery/pressure on it, push the mode button for 4 seconds until it brings up the functions, then start pushing buttons like crazy. Honestly, after getting one gauge done, it took me another entire brew before I finally hit the "magic sequence" on the other gauge to reset it. I wish I could post the method on here but . Alls I can say is it can be done from the gauges.
The "high volume dealer 'bout 60 miles southeast of Greensboro" is also sending me 2 new wheel bearing rubber seals. I must say, they do have very good customer service.
