Joint Gatorman and Capt Joe yesterday for some good ol hardcore bottom-bouncing. For them it's making a living, for me it's ALL fun!! Specially it being a comm. trip so no worries about limiting out.
Hit the pond at 06:30 welcomed by flat seas and a nice breeze, ran out 50+ miles till we got to our 1st spot, 120ft water, temp 85.6, and a scope lit up like Vegas at night!! GAME ON from the first drop. Reds,BIG scamps,strawberries,speckled hinds, HUGE beeliners and the useall "trash"
(including a couple 6ft+ tigers)
If this would have been 6 man charter you would have head back for the hill before 09:30!! 32 groupers on the 1st stop THEY WERE CHEWING!!!
Moved on and it was steady picking all day with some PIGS (30lb+) to keep it fun. Mostly scamps and reds but Gator even managed to catch a 15+ hog-snapper (his 1st ever)
(I did learn the hard way a 4/0 is TOO fast on a PA reel, I lost A BUNCH nice pigs, by yanking the hook, so instead of a "lolligagger" now it's "capt pop-off) THANKS Joe and Steve!!! Enjoyed it. _________________

Jan.....you should see the knot on Capt. Joes forhead from that smack you gave him trying to get that grouper in the box. You left you mark on him for sure.

If I had of known you were going to go from one extreme to the other I would not have called you a LOLLIGAGGER Sounds like you guys had a hell of a trip. I get my 4 day next week , maybe Capt. Joe will have extra room om the boat. I had a great time with you guys when I went. I'm still going to catch a grouper on a little smokie. Anyway, I'm going to have me one of the new style rods before long. I think Capt. Joe has a winner with that one. _________________ Steve Brantley
