Ok here goes I know it has been a while since a report but man we have been slammed. Lets get the inshore mess over with first I can sum it up real quick SPANISH MACKS I had a buddy who caught over a hundred yesterday notice I said caught not kept so dont start sending me nasty e-mails. Now to the good stuff can you say Wahoos & lots of them we have been averaging over 5 per trip along with more Mahi than a person could eat in a life time. We had a few trips last week when we were through meat fishing by 9-10 & to the deep we went looking for the elusive Marlin which have been a few caught lately but the Sailfishing has been outstanding the past few weeks & seems to be getting better. Talked to a friend a few minutes ago they went 5 for 9 on the Sailfishes which is unbelievable in NC this time of year but I am not complaning. We fished the Ducks Unlimited this past weekend & boy did it start of with a blast everyone was wanting to get the first release & it was looking pretty good for us for a few minutes lines in was at 8:00 & 8:02 my wife said there he is & sure enough there was a Sailfish on my left long just swatting away I hollered at Rick he made the drop back & nothing so a little further he dropped back & he said I have got him he eased up on the drag & sure enough he came tight my wife jumped in the chair & some how managed to bring in a 22 pound Wahoo which I have not figured out yet because 3 people saw the Sailfish. Well later that afternoon I heard the famous tick tick on my Bridge Pole so I dropped back & this fish was no mistake he aired out several times so I handed the rod down below & this Sailfish jumped off & this was pretty much the end of my weekend because that was the last fish we saw during the tournament. It can not say that any of the fish was caught in a particular place because we have caught them from the 300 line up to the 000s the best bet is to run until you get out of the very heavy scatterd grass which will be between 23 & 40 Fathoms & start. We had a much needed day off today but we start back bright & early in the morning. _________________ Capt. Shane
