Hi Folks, The temperatures while not cool have moderated. The persistent northerly winds combined with the moderate temps have begun the fall fishing season. It’s only started and the best is yet to come. This will be the time of the year to catch trophy trout, reds and flounder on our favorite artificial bait…GULP SW. I have stocked up and I am ready to go catch them.
Now here’s my report:

Inshore: Redfish are biting well on the falling tide. Best spots are the inlets, the docks on the waterway and the creeks. The flounder bite is steadily improving with the most and best fish in the ocean near the artificial and natural reefs. Jigging GULP on the bottom or fishing live bait will catch these fish. Trout are biting in the river on the rising tide.

Near Shore: We have had a ball this year shark fishing and releasing all we have caught. We have seen some beautiful sharks including but not limited to: blacktips, dusky, bull, hammerheads, lemon and spinners. The spanish bite has finally become reliable. We lucked up last week and caught a small sailfish (about 4+ feet) while spanish fishing using a bird rig. We released the fish in the water without a picture except for the ones in our memories of his 6 jumps. Gray trout are biting mainly on the rising tide. A few bluefish have started to show.

Offshore: Kings are biting from 10-25 miles out. A few sails are still around. Around the AR’s, amberjack and barracuda will give you some exciting action.

Gulfstream: Wahoo are still biting well in the steam. Nice mahi are around as well.

The Labor Day weekend is over and for many the serious time of the year for fishing has begun. Fall fishing can be very exciting and rewarding. Make plans to get out on the water soon and catch some…..

LET’S GO FISHING!!!
