Anyone have any home-made "inventions" for storing downrigger balls when not in use..?

PVC to the rescue. 3 or 4 inch PVC cap with a slot cut for the tail fin which holds your balls up straight. Option 2; the 3 " thick solid foam notched out or torched out for it to lay in like a birds nest.

Large mouth Hinz Ketchup jug, like they sell at Sam's, BJ's etc.. is about the size of a half a milk jug and works equally as well for bottom bouncing weights and a downrigger ball.

In the cooler with ice works great . we have a cooler at the back of the boat and let out a little line on the downrigger and put both balls in the cooler (they are usally blue when we take them out Laughing )

Rodhog has the right idea. Just cut a piece of pvc pipe off and slot it and your good to go.
