Want to upload my waypoints to the new supermap but am having trouble trying to figure out how to accomplish getting them from a spreadsheet file to gpx file.

WB,
I have an idea on how to do this but I want to test it before I spend a lot of time doing "How To" and stuff.

E-mail me your file and I will test it out. IF it works the way I think it will I will make how tos for everyone to use.

You can e-mail me at admin@fryingpantower.com
Your numbers are safe with me...trust me I have better numbers than you do...

Here is what I did....(Sorry Folks You must be logged in to see this file)

I took that excel file and stripped out all the Stuff...

That left me with name-lat-long

Then I added a file so it would be...
name-desc-lat-long

Then I added a Header (1st line) with
name,desc,latitude,longitude

I then went to
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert

and browsed to the file....clicked output GPX...
turned off Geotag points and

BINGO BANGO here is....400plus Numbers in GPX format ready for upload into Supermap.

Take the included file and change the EXTENTION to ".gpx" so it reads jake.gpx

One more step....You have to go through your file and MAKE sure all the 77 and 76 in the long fild are in this format....-77 and -76. I used Find Replace to do it.

I looked over these comparing them to my own numbers.....some of them are OK (So I know the converstion process works and is valid)....but for the most part they are off. I don't know where he got the numbers from but.....

Jakes #'s at least give people an idea of what the conditions are in the vicinity of the waypoint, even if it is a little off. I've found the majority of them to be pretty darn close.

I also noticed the reefcast forecast doesn't have the different forecast lines , is it taking the average of the different forecast lines or whats the deal?

I do not quite understand what you are asking.....

Do you mean Ensomble? Last I looked it worked just fine. It is a little slow but that is becasue it is generating it on the fly....

I just checked Reefcast both here on the site and in Supermap and both seem to be working fine.

On the supermap, the reefcast ensomble only had one line for the wind and wave height instead of multiple lines like the non-supermap one. You get what I'm sayin? You can't line up the lines on the supermap version to determine whether the forcast is accurate.

I see what you are talking about. I will look into it. One the loops is busted. They are both running on the same data set so I am sure it is something simple.

Thank you for letting me know.
