I have a Cannon Easy-Troll downrigger. I will be using it primarily to fish for Kings. Just needed to know what weight ball I should use for this downrigger. This will be my 1st experience with a downriggger since I was a young boy. Just needed an opinion. Thanks.

6-10# is the usual. I generally run a 6 or 8 depending on the seas. Run one at the top of the bottom third and one at the top of the second third of the water column. If one is producing better mover both to that depth.

I used to always run a 10 lb weight but I switched to a 8 lb last year and I really like the 8's unless you are in 130+ depths

BTW I have 8lb down rigger balls for sale

I like 10# with the fin to avoid spinning.

I with the majority. I use to run 10's, but found 8's do just fine & less to handle, especially as Eris said just not needed in the 80 ft or less depths we fish and on average you are only going to run it 60 ft.
