Team Knot Me won the SKA event in Treasure Island with a 40.65 pound kingfish.
"At 9 in the morning the reel went off," said Brian Hasson, captain of team Knot Me. "We were fishing about a half mile from the Egmont channel and the fish ate a ladyfish 28 feet down on our downrigger. JJ Hoyle did a great job fighting the fish for about 20 minutes."
"It was a weird bite. She hit and then we had to drop back to her 3 times. It ate like a little fish, but when she got the bait she took off and dumped almost 300 yards!" |
