Fishing Report through 5-2-2008

Bonito, first light and low traffic areas will have some top busters. If you put your time in trolling you will pick up few between the Blues . Purple/Pearl Yozuri’s has been the most consistent catcher.

Haven’t personally caught a Spanish yet but have seen breaking schools and heard others catching a few.

Blues of all shapes and sizes, all over. Picked up one way offshore in the upper teens.

Piers and docks giving up a steady supply of Reds and Flounder. Creek points on the outgoing tides have been consistent.

Evening topwater continues to improve. Some times small trout, sometime Reds of varying sizes. The further north the bigger and better the bite.

Plenty of Kings in the usual places 20+ miles out. I’m still working on the best way to set up a leader for jigging with out messing up the action. Butterfly jigs are an exciting way to catch them but can get expensive real quick. You should be able to fill up dragging bait.

Did a 50+ mile Grouper trip with FISHZILLA Fishing Team and had our limit by 2pm with some real fatso Reds. Picked up a nice Red Grouper on the jig along with AJ’s, Beeliners, Grunts and Triggers but cut bait was the big producer.
