We need to contact The members of the Oversight Transportation Committee Within the next 24-48 hours to gain support for the drafts on the towing issue. Please take the time to call or contact the legislators on the list below. Things are moving along and we need to keep this going...Mark

Please keep in mind that this is a list of members of the Oversight Transportation Committee. They get the drafts that are proposed, then release bills to the chambers. Once they release the bills, they are typically referred back to the standing Transportation Committee, which hopefully will be done in just a few days. At that point, the standing Transportation Committee members will debate the various bills and usually come up with just one bill to go to the floor for a vote. The standing committee members are critical, as they will usually review the research and hear from interested parties over a period of weeks, whlie whittling the various bills down to one. So they really are the ones that decide what will even be voted on. I'll post the standing Transportation Committee members for House and Senate (they're on the GA website) once the bills are referred.

But for the next 24-48 hours, the legislators above are the ones that need to hear from boaters. Things are sounding very positive at this point! But we need to keep the legislators hearing from us. Especially the ones that are on these committees.
JB

Here are the members of the Transportation Oversight Committee. If any of these are your legislators, please call them TODAY and encourage them to support us on this! They'll review it tomorrow, so you need to let them know your feelings ASAP. I'll be happy to get a phone number if anyone has trouble finding it, but here is the link to the General Assembly web site. On the far right is the member lookup feature.
