I'll be deploying within the next couple of months and this will be about the only time I can get together with my Brother and Brother-in-Law before I deploy again. I fly Helos for the Marines and my Brother flys Falcon Search and Rescue Jets for the Coast Guard. Due to our schedules and duty stations we don't get to fish much together anymore.

If the weather is good we're going to try and make a trip out to the gulf stream over Memorial Weekend and stay overnight at Frying Pan Tower. Both my Brother and I are experienced offshore and we will be using my Brother's 23 Parker HardTop that he regularly runs to the Oil Rigs for Tuna off Venice, LA.

Where should we head to in the gulf stream and what should we be using for bait/lures this time of the year. Dolphin, Wahoo, and Tuna will be our main targets but some grouper wouldn't be too bad either. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have always done good trolling medium ballyhoo with sea witches, islanders, etc.. for all the above mentioned species...i always run a deep planer line with a rubber band and shower curtain ring rig with a wire leader for the wahoo...or other toothy cridders...dont be afraid to put a horse ballyhoo or spanish in your spread for Mr. Blue.....depending on where you leave from around the tower area you could try the same ole' or some marks south of there along the break, the mahi should be moving inshore some and if you are grouper fishing be sure to put out a lite line for the mahi/kings and be ready to bail them when they show up behind your boat...use cut squid, cigar minnows, etc. be sure if the school shows up to leave one of the mahi hooked up in the water alongside the boat to keep the school around until others hook up....good luck to yall...and thank you for your service to all of us..you guy are heros!!
