I going to the tower friday and I am the laughing stock of my wife and family in that I can't catch anything. Can someone give the some advice for the easiest and surest way to catch anything that I can put on the dinner table friday night? And don't say stop at the "fish market" on the way home. Thanks for any help!!!

Drag some frozen cigars on regular king rigs and pirate plugs. Stay near the tower and that buoy right by it. Mark any good bottom marks you see and if the trolling doesn't work drop to the bottom. _________________ Tommy Stewart

I haven't made my way down to the tower yet because it is 60 Miles for me.. Here is a dive video of what it looks like down there.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=1cyd9iUn6c8 there are more on youtube if you search.. If you can't get any kings trolling then I would just drop down to the bottom with squid or cut bait and you ought to catch something.. _________________ Scott Selkey

I went out there blind and did pretty good pulling pinl 3 1/2" drones on plainers. Lots of bottom fish too if you catch a false albicore save them for cut bait. I did realy good half way between the twin wrecks and the tower.
ncdawg,
I'll be out there tomorrow morning. I'm on ch. 06. Timbo/Reel Pals. Give me a call. I'll probably start short of the Tower and move that way. If I find them I'll let you know. Look forward to talking with you tomorrow. _________________ "REEL PALS"

Good advice on here. Troll close to the tower and near the red buoy. Look on your fish finder for pods of bait and fish near them or over structure. If you know how to jig live bait it will work best. If not pull dead cigar minnows on king rigs.
As scott said if you don't have any luck trolling then drop to the bottom. Most of the bottom fish (Sea Bass/Beeliners/etc.) right around the tower aren't big enough to keep. You may want to run a couple of miles east or SW of the tower. There is plenty of good bottom and keeper fish in those areas. Cut squid/cigar minnows/cut bait will all work.

Good luck to ya! we will be out there Sat if you are still around....drop a line if you will be there. If not good luck! Friday looks like a great day for a Tower-run. Did you ever do that boat christening? _________________ "... and the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams of home."
