love to fish, currently own a 65 foot headboat as well as 42 Duffy and my full time company has considered relocating me to North Carolina......

are there better school districts in one part of the state than the other? looking for waterfront affordable house, 4 beds, 2 baths.....are they even affordable? has to be better than my $4000 a month nmortgage!

and no....the head boat stays upnorth but you bet that Duffy comes with me.

excellent site. lots of info here!

$4000 a month will probably get you something real nice. I work for Harnett County Schools which is nowhere near the coast but I can find out some info for you.

Most of the school systems in the eastern part of the state are pretty good.

The outerbanks score real well. Harkers Island and Morehead City do well as does the Carolina Beach area.

There are several places online that you can see how all the NC schools do.

The link above gives you information by district (county) and by indvidual school.

Once you decide on the area, pay very close attention to the details about each school before deciding.

My daughter has attended the Carolina Beach elem school for three years. I have all the praise in the world for their school and teachers. I moved here from breckenridge , Co and it has exceeded all of my expectations. Homes are still affordable (compared to $4k/Mo) and dockage is available. Let me know if you need dock space, rental or purchase. numerous available of all sizes.
