Got bored last week, caught many pogies off my pier and decided to make some chum. Made many 1/2 gallon portions which were frozen. Never fished with chum before and would be open to trying some of your favorite techniques. I am not picky about target species just like catching.
I was planning on going to the ARs within 10 miles of CBI drop anchor up drift of the AR about 100 yards, throw a few live ones in the slick and see what happens.
Any techniques and locations would help. Thanks GR
you can buy a chum bag at any local tackle store and you just put your frozen chum in it and hong it ove the side of the boat as the water defrosts the chum you will see your slick begin to appear behing the boat..fisnd some good bottom structure get some live bait and some king rigs and have fun. .just watch out for the slick thiefs you will see what i mean if you get other fisherman around they will get behind you in your slick and take advantage of all your hard work
also you should try menhaden oil it works exteremly well too! god luck!!

I just save the mesh bags off of produce (ie, orange bags, onions, etc).
Stuff the bag inside the plastic news paper baggies (tape the holes where it hits the ground when thrown by the delivery person) and fill full of chum and freeze. Keep frozen on run out to site, remove from the baggie and just stick over board on a rope (pre-tied to sack) and shake every once in a while.
Can mix menhaden oil, cat food, corn and leftovers with the chum. _________________ 250 Baja CC
