If you're in Hampstead, I'd try Dallas rock first, then if not paying off, head out to the 10 mile rock then the 23 mile rock area. God luck with the fishing and the wife.

Us and another boat fished the 10 box, 10 rock and 12 rock yesterday and NOTHING! on either boat. I would go farther like school house or 23 mi rock
we did hook a small Mahi at the 10 rock, but it flipped off.
good luck!

I went today, and we tried dallas rock, nothing, we trolled to 10 mile rock, than about to leave and just as we started reeling lines in there was a king, small... but legal! Than we headed to 12 rock, NOTHING! We headed for the 23 ledge and we trolled for about 30 minutes and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ =] Thats the sound of dinner! Nice sized king! We tried bottom fishing, but we only got small seabass, and sharks... Id probabaly go to 23 rock or ledge. Have fun! Good luck!

Best bet SUG is to go to a tackle shop and get one of the maps of the area. Most show all the areas that is talked about here. You can also find them on the supermap

SUG, All of those locations you can find on a map, We have them programmed into the GPS but we use the map also. The 23 ledge is like 1/8 of a mile from the 23 mile rock. Ill go on the boat and find the name of the map for you. It has every rock you can think of! Or what you can do is have someone captain your ship and help you with some numbers. Good luck!

SKIP THE KINGS!! (just my $0.02)

My PT got bored with trollin REEL fast.

Nothing better them some mud-fishing,keeps them busy and their mind off "the other stuff" (food, heat, pottie, hair etc etc)

Good Luck!!

I'm taking my wife out Saturday and she'd probably tell me if she don't have any gas money then I don't either.

Make sure to take precautions against getting sick, and have a backup plan if she does.
Worst time for use was going out 25 mi, then she got sick and we came back inshore after fishing for all of 20 minutes.

Salvaged the day by bottom fishing and keeping everyone busy with that.

Good luck!
