NC has had the past 8 years of pure Hell when it comes to policiticans , (1 ) with Bush and (2) with Easley they were both scumbags prior to being elected I am 1 who is personally Proud to admit that I voted for neither 1 of them .Some of the richer folks may be better off than before they entered office most of the middle class folks are now doing all they can to survive and get by . But maybe we can all buy mercedes and off t chaffuer them around . after all they will pay 20 + Grand for a week to drive

Why would you think the Govoner would like it? The NCHP is division of him and his slush fund. If this passes he will loose funding from permits and fines. Look at how many boats there are not going to fit the current statues, and he knows they will continue to tow. The NCHP says they have only issued 8 tickits on trailering issues concerning boats, but you see them pulled over every day. Yeah right !!!

Easley is out after this term so he could care less. I would suggest everyone take 30 seconds and call his office they will take the calls. Tell easley to support HB2167. They might not like the calls but you can express your concerns to his LAs. Things will work out if we can show overwhelming support for this bill. The Senate and House have made it loud an clear they support boaters and the boat industry. Please contact the governors...Mark

We really need to get in contact with the governors office on this. Looks like he is the only one that could stand in the way!!! Mark

Politely but firmly urge him to NOT VETO BILL 2167.

The Governors office contact numbers are 1-800-662-7952 (valid in North Carolina only)
(919)733-4240 or (919)733-5811.

One thing to remember about Easley is that he is a Souport resident and may not want to be on 133 at night facing a 10 ft wide boat in a 10ft lane with no shoulder coming in the opposite direction. Or excuse me....have his driver facing a 10 ft wide boat.

We also need to call Beverly Perdue on this. Easley is out in November, so not sure how much effect our calls to him will make. Perdue, however, is running for governor in November, so she does care about our votes. I'd guess (regardless of what her assistants tell you) that she can influence Easley in our favor, IF she wants to. I have a call in to her office now to see what her stance is on this bill. She needs to know that we will remember how this turns out when November elections roll around.

Perdue's number is 919-733-7350. PLEASE, if you own a boat over 8'6" wide (and that is NOT just big twin engine boats... it could be your skiff or 23'CC), or hope to buy one in the future, call both offices and tell them to support H2167. We need your calls to get this thing through.
