Last week showed some good fishing if you were willing to work for it. We fished when the wind did not blow too hard and were able to get out!
The king bite has stayed consistent in the 10-12 mile range. Still fishing mostly dead cigars on Hank Browns and Pirate plugs. The area from 8 miles out has been full of nice fat cigar minnows and we have pulled them on occasion. The mahi have taken a little of a powder right now, where they were around they are now gone? Have not seen many in last 2 weeks. Alot of bait all around, just the fish were not really turned on.
Fishing inshore has been good. The flounder bite to the north has been really good with alot of nice fat "no need to measure" keepers. We have fished with mullet, pogies, GULP!, all have worked. The drum are on the docks and in the shallow bays right now, I know of a few schools staying in their summer haunts.

Now for the big news!!!!! The new boat is here!!!! After 10 weeks of waiting I have the new 21' Mako in my hands. Since I am on the Tracker Marine Saltwater Fishing Team, I had to order it and wait, it took so long when I got the call that it was in I did not realize what it was about! Put some break-in hours on Sunday, rigging it with electronics this week, hopefully have it ready by Friday, I am amped!
Sorry no fish photos, cannot find my camera and have not gotten the disposable developed yet, but I had someone photograph the new boat,
THANK YOU ICE CREAM MAN!

Plan9 here is a picture of my 04 Mako 212, it has a 225 Optimax. My son took this with his camera phone after we got the decals.
I know you will enjoy this boat as much as we do. I will tell you it is sea worthy, we where caught up in the storm the other week fishing the Jolly-Mon. We where out at the 390's when we saw it coming and just got the lines in and under way when it hit. Kept the power on and into the waves and wind. 8 to 10+ waves with spray off the tops. It held its own in this type of sea. dont know if I want to see if it will handle anything bigger, as this was sufficient. I had confidence in my boat and crew. We came home safe and fished the rest of the day. I also know that someone else was looking after us, after we heard the news of the other boats that got caught up in that storm.

Thanks Reeldecision! I know Makos well, this is my third. I am glad to hear you made it ok that day and like to hear your satisfaction with your ride. I like the low profile bow rails, I am thinking about putting those on since I guide fly fishing trips. I think that they will be nicer for that. I cannot wait to get some fish blood on it!

Yes I had the option of the rails, and decided on the lower style. It makes it easier when throwing a cast net and reeling in fish.
Thanks and good luck, hope to see you out on the water.
