at 9:45 this morning i was comparing the new buoy to noaa. the buoy read winds south at 1.9 knts, seas 3. ft. at the same time noaa read winds changing to south 10 to 15 knts seas 3 to 4ft. so i guess noaa should still be considered the bible for the entire day. on the other hand, when noaa is off they are off, and when they are on they are on. having a 19ft vessel, noaa has kept me in when i could have been out. many times they have called for this and that and i would jump in my truck and ride down to the inlet and it would be completely backwards from what they forecasted and stay that way for a day or two. does anyone know how far apart the update times are for the two?i think this might would be helpful for everyone. never mind the question, i went back in and they appear to be about 20mins apart. great work dave! yours looks even better. |

Fishhead....With ALL these buoy pages....the times are important. If you want the lastest info.....you will need to hit "Reload" in your browser.
Why? Becasue the scripts do not run until you enter the page and it displays the file in memory (cache) then looks at the time difference between a preset and the file.....if it is over 2 hours old it goes and gets the new data. I could turn it around the other way....but the page load times would be in minutes not in secs.
So...the moral of the story is....if you the lastest info....reload the page once you are there. _________________ Capt. Dave
