The fishing the last few days has been nothing short of on fire. The Spanish and shark action on the beach continues to be awesome. The pogies have shown up in force off of both Holden Beach and Oak Island. There are some kings on the beach, as well as in the 65’ depths, on out to 100 +’ . The dolphin are moving to the 80 ft’ depths, as are the grouper. In the blue water, there is still an awesome gaffer dolphin bite, with a few wahoo and blackfins mixed in, as well as a few blue marlin and sailfish showing up. I have several pics on my camera from the last few days, but left it on the boat. I will post the pictures tomorrow night. Congratulations to Glen Godfrey and crew for their 52 lb. wahoo caught yesterday, as well as the crew of the Bossea, out of Holden Beach marina on their nice catch of dolphin and a wahoo yesterday. On Friday, we ran the Sea Hag out to the Blackjack. We caught several nice dolphin and a beautiful red grouper. Wednesday and Thursday were spent Spanish and shark fishing, with outstanding results. On Saturday, Holden Beach Marina hosted Take A Kid Fishing. We had over 25 youths on board 6 boats. Every boat caught numerous Spanish, and all the kids had a great time. Today, I had family in from out of town. We went back Spanish and shark fishing, Once again, we killed the Spanish, as well as released a 5’ shark. The fishing is as good as gets, so now’s the time to book you summer trips.
