4th of July weekend is a hard weekend to book for the overnighters and so far we do not have many. SOOoooo that means a BIG ol'boat with plenty of room for you! Come on Lets go Kill Something!

Call for reservations at 800-775-7450

Dave-
I haven't put been able to do my yearly overnighter yet, but I'll be out of town for the fourth. Headed to N. Florida - gonna run a headboat day trip on the Mayport Princess. Been with them a couple times before - real nice people. Mostly the same stuff as off NC, but a little closer in, and they get Mangrove and Mutton snappers mixed in, a few less real reds and groupers from what I've seen.

I haven't gone on The Shelf since I was a teenager (about 15 years ago - early in the boat's existence at MHC) and I remember a great crew, but the fish were a little sparse compared to trips I'd had on the other two MHC headboats. That was pretty early on, so i imagine y'all were still doing a decent amount of scouting. What I did manage to pull up were almost nothing but big grunts.

I'd been using one of the other boats for my annual overnighter, but my past couple trips with them have been pretty uninspiring. Either they didn't have enough help on board or I got bad trips, but the crew was really poor. Not all that helpful and in some cases anti-helpful. I don't think I'm an overly needy fisherman either, so that's why it's been so
frustrating.

When I do get that freezer-filler trip in this year, I'm going to make every effort to give the shelf a try.

Dave,
I was planning on going on an overnight trip, but i asked my dad and he said its about 2 hours away. If it was closer iwould without a doubt, but it would be like 28 hours with driving and everything =\

2 hours ain't that bad. It's 4 for me. Realize that you can get a good nap when the boat drives in at the end of the trip.
