Happy 4th everyone and especially to our troops overseas!
Fishing this past week has been difficult, mainly due to extreme tides. The low tide has been the lowest I have seen Little River in a long time, but it does offer the opportunity to see the sub-tidal structure that is usually under water. Lots of panfish, ie. croaker, sea bass, whiting, and spots. Flounder and trout are hit and miss in the creeks on live bait. I have not seen the big reds yet, the mullet run this summer is off to a slow start. With the water temperature in the low to mid 80's I am beginning to concentrate on the inshore deep areas and drop-offs for cooler water.
