Hey Dave and everybody else! I had an idea today to help raise some money. Back in my college days we sold t-shirts at a hefty profit to pay for party expenses. Why don't we design a shirt and sell it for say 2x what it cost us. Everybody gets a shirt and we get some free advertising for the site. Members could get login names and boat names on a pocket or something. What do all yall think?

I am not againest the idea...but to be honest my plate is SLAM FULL to the gills trying to get ready for the season.
We could have a design contest though to see who can come up with the killer T-Shirt design and go from there. If there is enough interest...
I think fishinbumnc just volunteered! LOL!

Never hurts to volunteer, anyone know any good graphics artists? I could come up with ideas but I am no artist, a design contest is not a bad idea.
I would help out on that project Dave, need to figure costs for printing and what kinda deal on shirts depending on the volume printed. I dont know how feasible it is, profit wise, but I will be glad to help out. I go thru alot of fishing shirts every season and the right design could sell alot of shirts, I know I would take a half dozen to use everytime I head out on the water!!

yes I was kinda volunteering, I've got some ideas for the shirt too. But I was thinking maybe we could get them done by say, the get together. I think the contest is a good idea. Some screen printing places have their own graphic artist(my dad used to run a shift at one) If we could agree on an idea, maybe we (or I) could get it done? just think if there are 1600 members everone buys a shirt, make 10 on each shirt, WE have 16000 to use this year!

Donnie,
I m a pretty good Graphics guy myself. What we would need to do is talk about what everyone wants in a T-Shirt. What kind of design....Pocket/No pocket......long/short......funny/serious....
Those sort of things. If you can get the discussion going. I will keep an eye on the thread when there is enough interest/responce I will sit down and design something/you folks submit something and we will take it from there.

I would think more than one design would be the way to go, give ppl options that will help sell shirts. I like all my shirts with a pocket, the pocket front also gives you a place to stick a small logo or design on the front, the pocket could hold the "standard logo" then have different designs on the back. With 2 or 3 different designs it should appeal to more members, and if members contribute to the designs it adds something everyone can say they had a part in creating.
Anyone who has interest in this project, post so we can get this ball rolling!
If you dont have an interest in creating, post if you would be interested in buying a shirt to help support the site!
