Garry,
I assume your unit has NEMA out right? (That is the standard way these things talk) If it does....MU supports it. You just have too set it that way.

If you bring your unit and power supply to the swap I will show you how. It is easy.

Dave,

Thanks for inviting me in on this conversation. I'll try to give a short explanation of the Maps Unique Electronic Version.

The Standard Version is all 6 MU maps and waypoint databses and the ability to upload the MU waypoints to to a GPS. Either all waypoints or you can select the waypoint yo upload.

The Premium Version upgrade allows you download your waypoints from the GPS and save them to you computer, print maps, and print your waypoints. You can also plot your waypoint file on the MU maps. This allows you see what type and sometime the size of the area that your secret spot are in.

There are more details on our website http://www.mapsunique.com. There is a FAQ page that will give you some "how to's" and a current supported GPS list also.

Garry,

We now support most Lowrance units. All of the newer units that use MMC/SD card to upload/download the units. We also support some of the older units that use a serial cable. I'm not sure about the unit that you have. Lowrance is not very helpful and not all of the older units worked th same way.

We have Demo version on the website that you can download and try with your GPS to make sure it works. It contains the current version of GPSU that we are using and small portion of a map and a few waypoints.

Thanks,
Capt. Benny Herring

Benny, Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try and see if my 1600 will talk to your program.

Dave,

Thanks again, I'll try to jump in from time to time. I certainly don't mind answering question here. But as I think I told you earlier, I don't like when folks use a public forum as a sales tool. So if I cross that line feel welcome to holler at me…

Benny,

I'm just a user around here but I for one would welcome any one like yourself that is willing to help us dumb fishermen learn how to use charts,
gps / chartplotters or your's or similar products to be more productive. I think you might get tired of our questions before we got tired of your answers.

Besides I believe in scratching the backs of those that scratch mine.

Benny
Thank you for your posts on this subject. I looked at the manual for the GPSU and would like to learn more about your products other that what is referenced in the website. Thank you for your help.

K,

I will be glad to try to answer any specific questions you have. Although probably the best way to see what the product does is to catch me at a show/demo. The product is very visual and much easier to show what it will do.

I don't have anything scheduled in the Wilmington are at the moment. I will be at the North Carolina Sportsman schools in Holly Springs, NC March 11, and Greenville, NC on March 18.

I know you are tired of hearing the go to the website thing, but I keep an up to date schedule of where I will be on the "What's New" page.

After setting in on the I Map session last night, I noticed a lot of similarities to the the old program I was trying to rehatch. One of the questions poised was how to get bearings to the point you are heading to from a set location. Perhaps toying with the excell sheet on Jakes numbers, we can do that. It woud take changing the point of leaving from, maybe that would work.
One feature to try to add would be the trip planner.
Thank you Capt dave forthe educational session last night. I really got a better grasp of the mix of Structure, Tempature and Clorophyll mix to hopefully get better fishing grounds.
