--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After scraping out the day on Sat. with 10 sheepshead, several black drum, 3 flounder and some bluefish between all the wind and rain it was good to get some decent weather and fishing in.
Sunday morning I had Rich Digulio and his girl Andrea onboard till noon. We eased out along the beach and picked off and few decent kings and some seabass and flounder before calling it a morning. Back out for just an hour or so with a good friend, Jamie Summerland, onboard for a quick bite... we found a 30lb cobia lying under some driftwood and hooked him up on a 7ft Med wt. spinning rod with a penn 360 slammer and 12lb test fireline... 20min. fight and he was in the box and we were on our way to the dock. So we get there to find Capt. Mike Taylor with a cobia that dwarfed ours... his was 72lbs on certified scales.... he said he found a pod of cobia and had 5 hooked up. Mike went back around the same area today and brought a 71lber to the scales.... check out the pics below... |
