Madfish,
I have always wanted to ask......What part of Masonboro are they dredging?

The hump just outside the inlet on the South side? Back side of the walls? At the intersection of the ICW?

I run Masonboro fom time to time (when CB is having a BAD day) and have never seen much issue with teh water depth.

Thanks,

Dave

Looked plenty deep enough yesterday (Sunday). They were dredging one of the yacht club entrances a few weeks back if I remember correctly, maybe they will derdge the intersection w/ ICW, looked like the shallowest to me ?? But then again I am still new to these waters.

I saw that dredge there too this weekend... looked like they were dredging the channel across from the coast guard station (Banks CHannel?) Never noticed shallow water there either. Maybe theyre just gathering sand for the beach. Theyve got pipes piled up on the beach on masonboro.

Theyre also dredging at mason's inlet, behind figure 8 to build up sand on the beach there, and its really clearing out that flats channel behind the south end of figure 8. crossing from behind the dredge to in front of it i went from 18 feet of water to 3. Not too long ago i thought i saw a dredge at the north end too, at rich's inlet. That inlet has changed a LOT in the past 2 years. The beach everybody used to picnic at is underwater now. The channel is still on the north side of the inlet though. Looks like you can't pass it until you get pretty far north of it, but then its wide open.
