The fish are biting just about everywhere. Inshore and Offshore have been producing good catches.
Friday I fished with Terry, Charles and Greg for an offshore dolphin trip. Charles and his son Greg were from Arkansas and this was their first offshore trip. Terry was the brother of Charles who lives in Raleigh. We fished an area about 27 miles off the beach in clear, cobalt blue water. We caught Dolphin, Kings, Barracuda, and Little Tuny. Slow trolling dead cigar minnows seemed to produce the most King Mackerel strikes while the dolphin piled on skirted ballyhoo and squid on a daisy chain.
Once again, the porpoises came along boatside which was a real treat for Greg.
Inshore, the Redfish and flounder are biting well. The docks and creek mouths along the ICW are holding lots of fish. Live bait, Berkley Gulp, and Fish-bites have been working well.
Saturday I fished the Flats with Boyd from Hillsboro looking for some Redfish. We caught fish on spinnerbaits, soft plastic paddle tails on jig heads and Berkley Gulp shrimp fish under a popping cork. We caught Reds, Flounder and Bluefish.
It's all happening so get out and catch some fish!!!
