|
|
I bought a 1978 Mako not to long ago that is in great shape, but needs a little elbow grease and some TLC. With that said, the most of the stainless steel on the boat has lost its shine and is looking really dull. Does anyone know of anything that I could use to get it looking like new again?
Thanks,
Jim |

Barkeepers helper.
You'll find it at Foodlion by the comet. It's made for cleaning stainless countertops. My T-top guy told me about the stuff and it works great. _________________ Steve Brantley

Barkeepers friend is great to restore the shine, but for more normal and frequent use, I use Alumagard. Barkeepers friend is also great for stubborn stains on fiberglass. _________________ Capt. Lyndon Carter

| Try some ketchup. The acid will shine it right up. |

I use Colinite's metal wax on all our metal. Tower, bow rails, fighting chair, etc. Works great....best I've used. _________________ Capt. John Mallette

Any one step cleaner wax will help clean up stainless rails etc... If you've got rust under cleats, fixtures, or rail posts and have the time, remove them clean them up and remount with a marine adhesive as bedding.
The best stuff I ever used on anodized aluminum was woody wax. Its definitely pricey though, you could get a lot of ketchup for that |
