Spring in Little River offers some great fishing. To avoid the "Spring Blues" here are a few tips to keep you on the action.
1) Check your equipment- If you did not run your boat or fish over the winter, it is wise to change fishing line and check all related equipment. Dont' wait until you are at the boat ramp to do it.
2) Try new fishing spots- The marsh and ocean are very dynamic systems. Tides, currents, and winter storms re-shape a fish's world. Do not assume your hot spots from last summer are still hot.
3) Avoid crowds- The Spring migration of fish has fish moving in and out of creeks to establish spawning grounds. Fish are hungry, but also a bit edgy.A stealthy approach is more effective.
4) Fish hard on the ebb tide- Water temp. is a major cue for the fish to "Spring" into action. Ebb water has had 6 hours to heat up, versus a flood tide that carries colder ocean water.
5) Book a Coastal Eco-Charter for more tips!
